Troubled Topography is at once a puzzle and a self-portrait in book form. These color photographs are made up of my ideas and feelings; together they question the paradox of our known world. The veiled title page is intentionally thought-provoking and meant to encourage not only a literal interpretation of the book, but a figurative one as well. Lifting the overlay begins your journey and is a helpful clue for interpreting the book. The first spread of a hillside sliding into the ocean (or is it trees marching out of the sea), is the book's most literal interpretation of a “troubled topography”.
This book is a hand-bound, hardcover photography book comprised of 30 color photographs taken in 2019. The book is printed on an inkjet printer with matte rag paper and is bound in decorative boards using a codex binding.
